PRO’s Weekly Report – 28th October 2013

 

WHIST

We held our monthly whist on Monday night last the  21st. We had a nice crowd of 9 tables. The following is the full list of results.

TOP SCORE:   (tie) –  Rita Gaffney & Betty Porter.
2nd Lady:   Tommy Murphy
1st Gent:   Dinny Neville.
2nd Gent:   Julie Murphy.
Highest half (gent):   Ena Clinton.
Highest half  (lady):    Mary Kelleher.
Last 5 games:   Mary McCormack.
Lowest Score:   Sheila Robinson.   Sitter.   Kit   Lee.
RAFFLE: Ursula King (2), Jack  Reynolds,  Patsy McDonnell and Mary O’Connor.

Thanks to all who came along on the night.   Also thanks to Kathleen and Ena and a special thanks to Susan who gave us a helping hand in the absence of Mary.

PLAYER OF THE YEAR & COMMITTEES PRIZE.

The semi-finals and finals of the above competitions will take place on Sunday morning 3rd November at 10 am.

In the Semi -finals of the P. O. Y are Alan Hanlon – v – Liam Buckley and in the 2nd semi- final we have John Browne – v – Ml. Buckley.

Semi – finals in the Committes Prize are Martin Carter – v – Stuart Tarleton and Ml. Scally – v – Steven Ruane.

In the Ladies final we have Anne Kelly – v – Ena Clinton.    We wish all the competiors the best of luck.

Our AGM will take place on Monday 4th November at 7. 30 pm. in the clubhouse and we would ask all our members to attend same. All outstanding monies must be paid on or before that date.

OUTING.

Our annual outing is being arranged for Kells on Saturday 9th November. All those interested please get in touch with our Secretary Mary as soon as possible.

INTER CLUB.

Unfortunately the Collinstown team’s reign in the above competition came to an end on Saturday last in Bruff when they were defeated. Commiserations to all the lads.  You did very well in this inaugural year of the competition. Those involved were Ml. and Liam Buckley, Alan Hanlon, John Browne, Paddy Browne, Peter Dolan, Larry McGinn, John McDonald , Rene Bloem and Martin Carter.

SYMPATHY.

We send the deepest sympathy of the club to our Gents Captain, Watty Kenny on the death of his mother Maggie last week.   May she rest in peace.
