PRO’s Weekly Report – 21st April 2014

PRESIDENTS PRIZE.

We held one of the club’s most prestigious competitions at the weekend, namely the Presidents’  Prize. Play commenced at 2pm on Friday, continued all day on Saturday and from 10am on Sunday until last card at 5pm on Sunday evening. We had a great turnout over the three days with over 210 cards being played. Some people played up to 12 rounds!!!!!!! Our President this year is Larry McGinn who has been associated with our club for 20 years or more. It is a testament to the esteem in which Larry is held with the large turnout of players and cards played.

The following is a list of the prizewinners:

GENTS;   Winner Michael Buckley, R/Up  Gary Middleton,  36 Nett Paddy Gorman and 36 Gross  Niall Cuffe.

LADIES:     Winner Anne Kelly, R/Up Moira Nugent.

Thanks to Larry for his magnificent prizes. You wouldn’t see the likes of them at  any of the National Championships.

Thanks to Martin Carter, Competition Sec & John Browne, Assistant for their work in  keeping scores and doing the cards over the weekend. Thanks to all who worked on the course during the week  esp Martin & Liam . It was difficult to get grass cut as our mower is giving trouble again.

Thanks to Elaine and all the ladies who provided all the edibles in the kitchen. As usual it was top class.

It was good to see a couple of new members playing in the Presidents Prize i.e. Liam Moore & Nick. We hope they will enjoy  their time in our club.
