QUALIFIERS FOR MATCHPLAY CHAMPIONSHIPS.
The following are the club qualifiers for the Leinster Matchplay Championships to be held in Tullamore & Erry on Sat & Sun 18th & 19th May next.
Rene Bloem, (Senior), Steven Ruane (Inter), Clive Byrne & Stuart Tarleton (Junior).
The following are the qualifiers for the National Matchplay Championships in Lucan from Sat to Mon 1st – 3rd June. Michael Buckley, Alan Hanlon & Peter Dolan (all seniors). We wish them the best of luck.
PADDY BARDON SHIELD FINAL.
The final of the above competition takes place on Weds. next the 15th at 6 pm. The two teams who have made it to this stage are Liz Bloem’s team of Liz, Michael Flynn & Michael Scally and Michael Buckley’s team of Michael, Gary Middleton and Michael Heffernan. This promises to be a great final and we hope as many of our members will come along and lend their support.
CLUB DOUBLES.
All first round matches for the above competition MUST be played on or before Monday next the 20th May. There will be no exceptions.
PLAYER OF THE YEAR.
The above competition commences on Weds 22nd May at 6. 30 pm and draw for the Gavigan Cup will be made afterwards.
DATES FOR YOUR DIARY.
Club Strokeplay (Graded) will take place in Collinstown on Sat 25th May at 10 am with last round at 1. 30pm.
Westmeath Strokeplay Championships will be held in Custume on Sunday 26th May. Timesheet will be in operation,.
CONGRATULATIONS.
Congratulations to our own Clubman Alan Hanlon who won the Custume Scratch Cup for the 7th time on Sunday last the 5th. He had 25 under par for the three rounds to win by 9 shots from the rest of the field. Well done Alan. Congratulations are also in order for two of our ladies Anne Kelly and Moira Nugent who have had three good wins under their belts recently. They won the 36 nett in the Foursomes in Castletown, Cement & Navan recently. Well done ladies.
