Custume Alliance
The final alliance of the Winter season was held in Athlone on Sunday last in the Custume course. The weather played ball for once and an enjoyable day’s Pitch & Putt was had by all. Special mention must go to Jimmy Revins and Papa Stevens on their superb 37 gross second round – an outstanding score for a two-ball scramble.
Collinstown once again were represented well and the partnership of Michael Scally and Mark Foran took the runners-up prize in the nett with a score of 69.
The next county board competition is the traditional season opener – the Jack McCormack Memorial Westmeath Classic. This takes place in Kilbeggan on Sunday next the 23rd of March with a 9.00am tee-off time. The competition is played over 36 holes – singles strokeplay, with prizes available in all grades. Last card registration will be at 2pm sharp. This competition is open to all registered PPUI players
