Kilbeggan Winter Alliance
Last Sunday saw the latest Winter Alliance of 2014 -Kilbeggan was the venue. The weather unfortunately did not play ball as the rain fell consistently for most of the opening round. This did not deter more than 40 ‘die-hard’ competitors though and they were rewarded with some sunshine near the end of the second round.
Collinstown again had two winners when the scores were all totted up. Maurice Middleton with his good pal from Lough Owel, Declan Penrose picked up the winners prize in the nett with a score of 71. And David Penrose with partner Martin Loran got the nett runners-up prize with a 75. Kevin Flanagan also picked up a spot prize in the raffle.
The next alliance is on Sunday next, 9th March in Rochfortbridge. Tee-off is at 11.00am sharp with registration closing at 10.45am.
